EXPERIENCE
I’ve been doing design work based out of Park Rapids, Minnesota for eight years now. My business is regularly known as Web Services of Park Rapids or Park Rapids Web. I offer hosting, web design from the ground up and domain registration along with a host of other design services. If you’re looking for a chance to expand yourself or your business to the web, new websites are my specialty.
WEB DESIGN – I started designing websites when I was twelve years old by looking at the source code of other sites and teaching myself as I went. I work in Photoshop and with a program called HTML Kit. I write CSS and XHTML strict from scratch. You won’t find me using a program to write web code for me 
This gives me the opportunity to offer truly unique websites with design versatility as well as beauty. To date I have over a hundred web designs under my belt.
PRINT DESIGN – My first big print project occured when I was fourteen and had just become a part of the Jackpine Writers’ Bloc. It fell to me that year to thoroughly design the cover and layout of the literary journal The Talking Stick. Since then I have designed the layout and cover (and co-edited) nine Talking Sticks, as well as served on the board of directors to choose the writing that would be included since 2003. I have designed several other books as well for the authors Richard Fenton Sedarstrom, Jerry Mevissen, Sharon Harris and Marion Holtey as well as for myself.
LOGOS AND BROCHURES – After several years in the web design business I have done several logo and brochure projects. For printing them I usually use VistaPrint and have been consistently happy with the results. Vistaprint also offers free business cards in hundreds of different designs. I believe a logo is your own personal trademark and when I am hired for a logo design I usually start by doing up to a dozen initially so you have the opportunity to choose and change as we go.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT – I require 50% down at the beginning of the project. I like to have an initial design consultation in person, though I have also done this through email, so you have the opportunity to completely highlight everything you need and/or want in a design. In this moment the more vocal you are the best chance I have of getting the design right the first time. From here I take one to two weeks to put together a mock up that I then send back to you for critique. This is the time when you have the chance to change anything before we go live with the design. You can expect me to work on your project until you are entirely happy with the result.
